Prostheses Foundation Welcomes Faculty Members and Medical Students from Nippon Medical School, Japan
On August 25, 2026, Clinical Professor Niwes Nantachit, M.D., Secretary-General of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. the Princess Mother, together with the Foundation’s executives and staff, welcomed a delegation of nine faculty members and medical students from Nippon Medical School, Japan. The delegation was led by Associate Professor Dr. Shimpe Ono, President of Ajiken, Nippon Medical School, and visited the Prostheses Foundation’s headquarters in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, for an educational visit. Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, Japan, is the oldest private medical school in Japan. Founded in 1876, it has been guided by the principles of modern Western medicine and humanitarian medical care. It has maintained a close academic relationship with the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, through continuous exchange programs involving students, faculty members, and research teams for 60 years. During their visit, the delegation observed demonstrations and had the opportunity to try making prosthetic legs using the sand-casting technique. They also visited the 30th Anniversary Exhibition of the Prostheses Foundation.
