USAC Students from Chiang Mai University Visit the Prostheses Foundation
On October 21, 2025, Clinical Professor Niwes Nantachit, Secretary-General of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother, together with the Foundation’s executives, warmly welcomed a group of American students participating in the University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) program and students from Chiang Mai University who came to learn about the Foundation’s work. The group was led by Ms. Chaidaroon Tipawan, Program Director, along with Mr. Nuno Caldeira Silva, Honorary Consul of Portugal in Chiang Mai and former Ambassador of Argentina to Thailand. The visit took place at the Foundation’s main office in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province. . The USAC program, in academic collaboration with Chiang Mai University, offers undergraduate study opportunities for American students from various higher education institutions across the United States to study for at least one semester in different faculties at Chiang Mai University. Since its inception in 2011, the program has not only provided classroom learning but has also continuously promoted community engagement and intercultural exchange in every semester. . During the visit, the students toured the 30th Anniversary Exhibition of the Prostheses Foundation, observed prosthetic leg fabrication and gait training demonstrations, and made a donation in support of the Foundation’s ongoing operations.
