In2018 4.Ubon Ratchathani Province

          The fourth unit of the year was the 146th royal mobile prosthesis unit – a collaboration between the Prostheses Foundation and Ubon Ratchathani province. It took place at the 50th Anniversary Mahavajiralongkorn Hospital, Muang District, Ubon Ratchathani during 20th – 25th May 2018. A total of 146 amputees from Ubon Ratchathani and nearby provinces came and a total of 136 prostheses were offered as detailed below.
                       1. BK Prosthesis                        Amount:     89 legs
                       2. TK Prosthesis                        Amount:     5 legs
                       3. AK Prosthesis                       Amount:     40 legs
                       4. Hip Disarticulation Prosthesis                   Amount: 2 legs
         During this royal mobile prosthesis unit, some of the amputees were trained in making herbal products, such as inhalers and ointment, broom making and basket weaving, and farming chickens for eggs.
         The Prostheses Foundation provided twenty of the 11th class of disabled - aid technicians with an opportunity to practice and at the same time organized the 11th training session for eleven disabled - aid technicians’ supervisors. Forty-three physical therapists in Ubon Ratchathani also received training so that they are able to take care of the amputees after they were given prostheses. Furthermore, the Prostheses Foundation organized a prosthesis making competition in both AK and BK prosthesis categories so that the disabled - aid technicians feel the needs to constantly improve themselves and be proud of what they do.
