Preparation for fitting the prosthesis
The stump should be ready and suitable for prosthesis. Not only should the incision be neat, the wound should also be properly healed. The leg itself should be of suitable length with strong muscles. The amputee should be able to stand up putting all their weight on the other leg and have two strong arms.
Cautions for fitting the prosthesis
The amputee should be able to manage their existing medical conditions and complications, for example, diabetes, kidney problems, heart problems, high blood pressure, paresis/paralysis, or stroke, etc. Moreover, the amputees with swollen, stiff or infected stumps cannot be fitted with prosthesis.
