The Prostheses Foundation was founded by H.R.H. Srinagarindra The Princess Mother who was concerned about the suffering of the amputees especially those who also suffer poverty, and those without access to prosthesis services from the government. Her Royal Highness constantly visited the citizens all over the country and therefore was aware of the prosthesis shortage. When she found out that Thai doctors were capable of making prosthetic legs, she began helping. “Do not take their money. Take mine,” once said HRH Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani. It then became the foundation’s ideology from the very first day until today.
The Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. the Princess Mother was registered on 17 August 1992 with its first office in Chiang Mai. The registered capital was paid by H.R.H. the Princess Mother herself. The foundation also owes its success and advancements not only to the H.R.H. the Princess Mother but also to the mercy of H.R.H. Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, the co-founder of the foundation, who visited the sites of our prosthesis mobile clinic in different provinces across the country. Today H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirinkhorn is the president of our foundation. With their mercy and generosity, the foundation has become successful and international  accepted. Amputees of all races and religions regularly come for our services.
