Necessary procedures to do after 

                           getting the artificial leg.  

   1. The stump must be considered part of the body that needs to be taken care of properly. When taking 

       a baht, you must wash it by using soap, and clean it until it is free of dirt.  After the baht, use clean  

       towel to dry the leg. Then put some lotion and power on the stump in order to protect the skin on the 

       stump end from cracking easily and to keep the stump from being dirty and getting fungus and bad smell.

                                       

   2.  After taking the artificial leg  off, you must see that there is any thing unusual happens to the stump  

        or not, or if there is a red skin or bruise anywhere on the stump.

                                                           

   3. If there is a wound on the stump, you should refrain from using the artificial leg temporarily. 
       you should clean the wound, and put some antiseptic medicine. When the wound is cured, 
       you try to put the leg back on. If you start to have the wound again, you must consult the doctor

       or prosthetist that adjusted the artificial leg for you.

   4. The artificial leg and the socket must be cleaned with soaped water, then dry with clean towel.
       Do not dry the leg in direct sunlight.

                                    

   5. The stump must be bandaging with elastic bandage at all time, even when the stump has sunk

       down. You must loosen the elastic bandage every 6 hours, leave the leg out of the elastic bandage

       for a while, then cover it  with the elastic bandage again. The stump should be bandaging  

       23 hours a day.

   6. The elastic bandage should be washed by normal detergent. Do not boil because it will lose its

       elasticity. After washing it, dry it on two paralell clotheslines and it should not be hang out in

       too bright sunlight.
