Q : 

 How must the stump be cared for?

                         A :

1. Keep it clean as any other part of the body, washing, scrubbing,and drying it 
    when you bathe.
2. Inspect it for bruises or scrapes regularly. If you find injuries stop using the
    prosthesis, apply antiseptic such as betadine, or consult a doctor.
3. Continue wrapping it with an elastic bandage, even though it has shrunk.
     It should only be removed to bathe and rewrap every 6  hours. It should be 
     wrapped 23 out of 24 hours.
4. Choose an elastic bandage which is the right width for the stump.
5. The elastic bandage should be washed the same as socks using washing powder,
     and not boiled, as then it will lose its elasticity. Hang it to dry draped between
     2 lines where the sun is not too bright.
