During the beginning period, the temporary office of the Prostheses Foundation was set up at the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University. However, as the amount of work kept increasing, more repletive facilities were required. Seeing the importance of this issue, the Royal Army has granted permission for the Foundation to build a new office building in the Royal Army’s property with the area of 22.1 Rais (35,360 square meters, or approximate 8.74 Acres). With the help and support from the Government Lottery Office, Thai Bank, Siam Cement Group, and other private organizations, the Foundation has built new facilities which include office buildings, study rooms, operation rooms, laboratories, supply buildings, and dormitories for amputees and those received trainings. It was then that the Foundation was able to commence the full scope of work according to the initiatives of H.R.H. the Princess Mother. H.R.H. Princess Galayani Vadhana Kromluang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra graciously observed the area and presided over the opening ceremony of the new office on October 6, 2003. |
