History

The Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. the Princess Mother was founded by H.R.H. Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother in 1992 when she had learned that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Therdchai Jivacate was able to produce light and comfortable prostheses from recycled plastic which its cost was 10 times lower than those imported. H.R.H. the Princess Mother initiated the establishment of the Prostheses Foundation to provide prostheses for amputees regardless of nationality or religion.
The Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. the Princess Mother was officially registered on August 17, 1992 with the Princess Mother graciously sat as an Honorary Chairperson and H.R.H. Princess Galayani Vadhana Kromluang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra as a Chairperson. Both granted the initial fund that made the prosthetic services possible since 1992.

Later on in 26 January 2009, H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn inherited the Prostheses Foundation and the determination to provide prostheses for those in need from H.R.H. the Princess Mother and H.R.H. Princess Galayani Vadhana Kromluang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, and has been working a President ever since.
